On 31 December 2025, on the expiry of a concession regime dating back to 1910, the entire downstream petroleum infrastructure returned free of charge to the ownership of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The reclaimed network comprises two pipelines totalling 332 km, linking the Matadi and Ango-Ango terminals to Kinshasa, on the Stanley Pool, together with pumping stations and storage depots. Operated in its recent period by FINA LOG SA, it is the historic artery of the capital's petroleum supply.
A strategic heritage under national management
This return marks a decisive step toward national command of the petroleum logistics chain. A few weeks later, the State would incorporate ENGIP-RDC SA to ensure its operation and development.
