332 kilometres of steel, from the river to the capital.
The assets entrusted to ENGIP-RDC SA comprise two pipelines, pumping stations and storage depots linking the Matadi and Ango-Ango terminals to Kinshasa, on the Stanley Pool: the historic artery that bypasses the Lower Congo rapids.
A strategic infrastructure, returned to national management.
Built to cross a stretch of the river unnavigable to shipping, the network links the port of Matadi to the upper navigable reach at Kinshasa. Reclaimed by the State on 31 December 2025, it is now operated, maintained and modernised by ENGIP-RDC SA.
Matadi · Ango-Ango · Kinshasa.
The reclaimed installations.
Four asset classes make up the heritage returned to the State and entrusted to ENGIP-RDC SA. Detailed technical characteristics are the subject of an inventory under way, published as the reclamation phase progresses.
Matadi Terminal
Port point of entry on the Congo River, the head of the Western corridor network and origin of pipeline transport to the capital.
Ango-Ango Terminal
Twin terminal located downstream of Matadi, connected to the pipeline network conveying products to Kinshasa.
Pipeline network
Two pipelines totalling 332 km, crossing the unnavigable stretch of the Lower Congo to link the maritime terminals to the upper reach at Kinshasa.
Pumping stations & depots
Pumping stations spaced along the route and storage depots at the Kinshasa terminus, on the Stanley Pool, complete the reclaimed assets.
Western corridor: reference data.
Summary of the reclaimed network's verified data. Detailed operating characteristics (capacities, diameters, throughputs) will be published as the technical inventory is completed.
